Mingling and Film Viewing at Fandom Café
LWW Extended DVD Summons: April 14, 2007 :: Narnian Scribe: Francis Pasion

he Philippine Order of Narnians has yet again met to watch the continuation of the Extended DVD of the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (the Extended Edition has 4 CDs, two of them already viewed at last month’s Summons) last Saturday, April 14 at Fandom Café.
For those who haven’t been to Fandom Café, the place is the headquarters of the New Worlds Alliance, the umbrella organization of all Sci-Fi and Fantasy Fan Groups in the Philippines. How does it feel like to be there? Since it was made for geeks like us, it’s literally a geek sanctuary. This summons is the first summons to be held there and the Narnians without a doubt found the place inviting. The film viewing was held at the Café’s Audio Visual Room at the second floor. “Beyond Narnia” a film the group was supposed to watch, was put on hold due to the number of people present who haven’t watched the Extended Edition yet. Those present were: Rem, Francis, Jam, Paolo, Martin, Lea, Altariel and Jules. With chips, hazelnut and mocha coffees, ice teas and scrumptious chocolate chips, the Narnians were all hyped (literally!) to watch the Extended Film. Side comments were uttered . . . like “where does Narnian milk come from?” Or “Did you know that pirated DVD subtitles translate ‘Aslan’ as ‘Iceland’?” I tell you, you wouldn’t want to hear the rest (or you'll risk laughing). The whole film was fun to watch (that’s also taking into account the group you’re watching it with).
The film viewing ended at about 6pm and we moved downstairs to discuss event planning for the upcoming New Worlds V. By 6:30pm the Summons had been adjourned, but half of those present insisted on staying to help out Altariel (now the Art Director for the TPON booth) in making a concept sketch of the booth design and detailing. By 9 pm, the summons was over.
Trivia: Only 150,000 copies of the LWW Extended Edition were released all over the world. So if you attended the previous or this summons, you’re counted as one of the few who saw the extended film!
