TPON Launches the Book Donation Pool

April 8, 2007

early four years ago, The Philippine Order of Narnians was put up "to promote interest in the life and works of CS Lewis." Now, TPON is exploring that task in an exciting new way, by launching its Book Donation Pool.

By providing copies of Lewis' books to various school and children's libraries, TPON hopes to encourage more Filipino readers to discover CS Lewis' works.

The first set of books is already earmarked for the country's first Sci-Fi and Fantasy Library, which is being built up by the New Worlds Alliance and is located in Fandom Cafe in Cubao. The New Worlds Alliance has helped TPON grow in so many ways in the last four years, and this is one way TPON is expressing its continuous support.

TPON will soon be looking for a school or a public children's library to be the second recipient of CS Lewis books. (Suggestions for recipient libraries are welcome at the group's filipinonarnians@yahoogroups.com.)

If you’re a TPON member, you can donate any book written by or about C.S. Lewis, or you can donate money as a book-buying fund for the pool. (The donation will be accepted on summons and special events.)

And oh, don't hesitate to donate books if you think others may have donated copies already. Such second copies will automatically be assigned for donation the next recipient library.

The best way to enjoy talking about Lewis is still to discuss his works with someone discovering them for the first time. Let's help make that happen a bit more often.
