Quote for the Week

"Sire," said Reepicheep [the chief mouse]. "... I had thought, ... we might have been sent with the challenge [to single combat between the High King Peter and King Miraz]. Sire, my people are grieved. Perhaps if it were your pleasure that I should be a marshal of the lists, it would content them." [...] — "I am afraid ..." said Peter very gravely "...Some humans are afraid of mice — " — "I have observed it, Sire," said Reepicheep. — "And it would not be quite fair to Miraz," Peter continued, "to have in sight anything that might abate the edge of his courage." — "Your Majesty is the mirror of honor," said the Mouse with one of his admirable bows.

Prince Caspian will be released in the Philippines on June 4

May 1, 2008

ike most of the world, Filipinos have been waiting for Prince Caspian to come to the big screen. But now it looks like we "Pinoys" are going to have to wait a month longer.

For a while now, word has been going out that Caspian has not been slated for release in the Philippines until June. It took us a while but one of us finally got on the phone with the local distributors, and the rumor has been confirmed.

Unofficial sources say the distributors are concerned that Indiana Jones is coming out in May and, that, with its strong following in the Philippines, it might drown out Narnia.

Local cinemas were not yet able to give a definite date for the release, but have been told to say it would be coming "some time in June" (unconfirmed sources say June 4).

So... Narnia fans in the Philippines are going to have to learn a month's worth of lessons in patience.

We'll try to get word to you guys as soon as we know more.

TPON Announcement Regarding the New Worlds October 27th Convention

October 21, 2007

n solidarity with the victims of the latest bombing and their loved ones, and out of concern for everyone's safety, the Order of the Lion has decided that TPON should not participate in the scheduled convention next Saturday.

We also wish to be removed from the roster of NWA groups participating in the convention.

TPON's officers would like to thank those inside and outside the organization who have contributed so much to TPON's preparations for the con.

We are hopeful that the work that was already started will not go to waste as we will find other occasions to use them to promote CS Lewis' legacy.

However, we believe that it is our responsibility to assure the safety of all concerned, and to allow more time for healing for the victims of this tragedy.

Individual TPON members who wish to attend the convention may do so at their own discretion but let it be emphasized that TPON, as an organization, is not participating in the event.

We hope our members and our partners in planning this endeavor understand our reasons for this decision, which was reached after much careful consultation. .
